I believe the school board voted to fire the teacher. Then the teacher made the decision to fight the school and requested this hearing.
Why is he not at fault?
He could put an end to this at any time.

The teacher was just standing up for his rights! He has every right to his freedom of speech and every right to fight for his right to a job!
It's the ignorance of the schoolboard that continued this whole thing. John is just standing up for himself! And might I add for God! Go John!

Not on the governments time and not on the governments dime. Standing up for God before or after school is fine, not during.

I don't think it is ever Ok to Mark or burn students.

Obviously you haven't been reading the latest articles on Freshwater...for one thing the students volunteered to test the Tesla coil and for another it does not burn the skin.

This country was founded on Biblical beliefs. "Standing up for God before or after school is fine, not during." -That's ridiculous. Teaching your children that there are only certain times to stand for what they believe in is a scary idea!

Last time I checked a minor can't volunteer for anything. You are also wrong when you say it can't burn skin. If electricity leaves a red mark it is an electrical burn. Two students testified earlier that this happened.
It doesn't matter if a kid thought it was funny or not. A teacher has a responsibility to know the devices they are using in class. The manufacturer says not to come in contact with it.

Actually kids can stand up for what they believe in when ever they want, it is the state paid employees that can't when they have a captured audience of minors in their class room.
I hope your kids don't get a teacher who is a wiccan and the teacher stands up for what they believe in, in the classroom.

Wow. It's hard to imagine where our countries heading when things like this are allowed to happen in small town America. John is a good man. It's a shame that we are allowing an invisible enemy to persecute him in "the land of the free and the land of the brave". This is NOT Iran or Russia, this is supposed to be the great United States of America. God help us.

Everyone, even if they are a good man, has to follow the laws and rules.
